Drama Development Agency S.A. was established in 1996 following the launch of the
European Community Initiative LEADER II. Today, it is recognized as an innovative and
reliable organization promoting local development through an ever-expanding range of
activities.
The Agency has extensive experience in the evaluation, monitoring, and technical support of
a large number of investment projects in the agri-food sector, including dairy plants,
wineries, food processing enterprises, and other agri-food businesses. These projects have received funding under the OPAAH (Integrated Rural Development Programmes) and
LEADER Local Development Programmes.
The Agency participated in the Interreg V-A Greece–Bulgaria 2014–2020 programme
through the project “Promotion of Entrepreneurship and Innovation in the Rural Areas of
Kavala, Drama, Smolyan and Blagoevgrad”, which focused on the marketing and branding of
local agri-food products.
It also participated in the “SYMMACHIA” (Alliance) project—an Integrated Local Employment
Plan for the Municipalities of Doxato, Prosotsani and Paranesti—which included support for
farmers seeking to diversify their activities into dynamic sectors, as well as assistance in
establishing new businesses with strong prospects for sustainable growth in the local
market, such as food and agricultural product processing and packaging units.
